About us

Orithing is a curated platform shaped by long-standing Chinese craftsmanship, ritual, and ways of living.

Across different regions of China, everyday life has long been guided by a quiet understanding of time, nature, and the body. Objects were never made only for function, but to carry rhythm — to be used, lived with, and passed on.

Orithing brings these ideas into the present through a carefully selected collection of objects, connecting traditional craftsmanship with modern daily life.

What We Do

We work with independent artisans, regional workshops, and contemporary makers across China.

Every piece is selected not only for how it looks, but for:

  • how it is used
  • how it is made
  • and the story it carries

From materials to techniques, we focus on authenticity, quality, and cultural meaning — ensuring each object reflects the hands and traditions behind it.

Why We Exist

Orithing was created to reconnect modern life with the quiet value of traditional craftsmanship.

In a world of mass production, we believe objects should do more than serve a function. They should hold memory, invite presence, and become part of everyday rituals.

Our goal is not to replicate the past, but to bring its essence into the present — in a way that feels natural, usable, and lasting.

How We Curate

We do not curate by trend or price.

We curate by relationship — between object, body, and time.

Each piece is considered through four questions:

  1. What is the idea behind it?
Is it rooted in traditional craft, ritual, or regional knowledge?

  2. How is it used?
Does it belong naturally in daily life?

  3. How is it made?
Who made it, and through which materials and techniques?

  4. Why does it last?
Is it something to be kept, gifted, or lived with over time?

Only objects that carry both practical function and cultural meaning become part of Orithing.

What We Believe

We work with objects people live with.

Not museum pieces.
Not souvenirs.
But companions of daily life.

Each object carries:

  • time
  • material
  • human hands

A Final Note

Every item you find at Orithing is created with intention — not in anonymous factories, but through the hands of makers who carry forward generations of knowledge.

We believe these objects deserve a place in everyday life, not just as things we own, but as things we experience.
